My name is Lora Parks.  I live in Newark, OH.  I have a wonderfully supportive husband and a beautiful daughter.  I am a trained birth doula now working towards receiving my certification through CAPPA. 

     My interest in becoming a doula started while I was pregnant with my daughter.  I knew what kind of beginning I wanted my daughter to have and it was very important to me that she get it.  I am very blessed to say that my experience throughout my pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum went very much like I wanted.  I later realized that without a great deal of research I had done and the great support system I had things may have turned out very differently. 

     I want to help other women in their journey to motherhood and help them accomplish all their goals.  Wether it be natural birth, breastfeeding, or as simple as avoiding a c-section.  That is why I decided to become a doula.
